Organization Overview
WASIMA is a grassroots Environmental and Wildlife Conservation Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Tanzania, registered under the Tanzania NGO Act, 2002. The organization aims to be a leading model in nature conservation and community livelihood improvement through sustainable resource management. WASIMA’s mission includes promoting environmental conservation, conservation education, community-based initiatives, ecotourism, economic development, and cultural activities.
WASIMA is currently implementing a five-year strategic plan in remote villages across seven districts in Tabora, Katavi, and Rukwa Regions: Kaliua, Urambo, Sikonge, Nsimbo, Mlelele, Tanganyika, and Nkasi. The plan focuses on addressing human-wildlife conflicts and habitat degradation in southwestern Tanzania.
The organization is seeking to hire a driver to transport team members and camp guests within the project areas around the Ugalla-Katavi ecosystems in western Tanzania. The driver is expected to start on 1 April 2025 in the Mpimbwe district.
